BIO GROOM DISTRIBUTION IN RUSSIA

Traditionally the autumn exhibition ZOOSPHERE in Saint Petersburg attracts a plenty of participants and causes huge interest both among experts and among pet fans. This year it took part from November, 19 till November, 22, 2003.
The general area of an exhibition was more than 70 000 sq.f. About 140 companies from 11 countries and 71 regions of Russia participated in the Show.
Ironically the pet business started not in the Capital of Russia - Moscow but in St.Petersburg, the second largest city in this country. That's why when ZOOSPHERE opens the doors for thirteenth time Moscow hold only Fifth ZOORUS show, next spring.

THE ONLY BOOTH IN COLOR

Despite the huge territory of Russia (10 time zones) all wholesale trade is concentrated in Moscow and St.Petersburg in the western part of the country. So called 'Service companies' carries a wide assortment of product, ready to ship to the outskirts of Russia. Therefore the Moscow and St.Petersburg Trade Shows is the showcase for regional buyers and foreign manufacturers looking for distributors. The distributors outside of St.Petersburg and Moscow are scarce except a few on the Far East specializing on China imports. This distribution pattern will continue for the time being until the huge difference in income between Two Cities and the rest of the Russia exists..

THE BUSIEST BOOTH AT THE SHOW

US companies has a strong presence in Russia. Among the first companies entering the market was Bio Derm Laboratories with the pet care product Bio Groom and Iams Eukanuba pet food manufacturer. Now we can see a wide variety of US product:
Bio Groom, All Systems, 8 in 1,Ring 5, Iams Eukanuba, Diamond, Nutro, ProPac, Proformance and others.

During these four days of the Trade Show quite a few additional events happened:
- Third International Pet Business Forum. US Pet Food Institute had a lecture on developing PFI activity in Russia
- Veterinarian Conference
- Dog and Cat shows

The ZOOSPHERE 2003 pet product show was organized by:
